KaESS Complex was discovered at the Yoshitaka Gold Leaf Foundry in Japan. Elderly women who soaked their hands in a naturally fermented paste used to make the paper placed between gold leaves, had wrinkled faces but unexpectedly beautiful hands.
- Key Ingredients:
- Persimmon ‘Kaki’ Leaves: Minimizes pores, targets acne and dullness. Contains 30x more rejuvenating Vitamin C than tangerines, and Vitamins A, D, E and tannins.
- Eggshell Membrane: Contains 18 types of tissue fortifying amino acids, hydrating hyaluronic acid and structural collagen. All are bio-compatible with human skin. Relieves dryness and improves elasticity.
- Soybeans: Contains lecithin for moisture retention, B-vitamins and Vitamin E. Relieves dryness, improves wrinkles and dark spots.
HOW TO USE:
Step 1: Soak the sponge in water for 5 minutes until it expands to 1.5 times the original size.
Step 2: On wet or dry skin, put 1 or 2 pumps of Clean Cleanser or about a pearl size amount of Moisturizing Clean Foam into the palm of your hand, then gently massage into your face. Work into heavier makeup areas with your fingers where needed. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
Step 3: Squeeze out excess water from sponge. Gently massage over the face and body in a circular motion.
Step 4: After use, rinse the sponge well and place it in the refrigerator in an air-tight container.
Step 5: Place a dime-sized amount of lotion toner either
- in the palm of your hand, press into face and neck and smooth, or
- on a cotton pad and swipe over skin
*As a 100% natural vegetable product, the sponge will last about 1 month before becoming worn and needing replacement.

"I received this beautiful product complimentary from Makanai Beauty. I was in love the moment I opened the box, it was packaged exquisitely and immediately I could see why it had such a high price point. When I first opened the package I was impressed with how luxurious the line felt. I have trialed the 3 products over the past weeks since I received them and I love them all. The sponge is great at exfoliating my skin and leaves it feeling smooth and refreshed. The foam was pleasant and had a lovely simple scent.
